OUR CURRICULUM

Holistic Learning and Cultural Enrichment

Neter Rising strives to go above and beyond for its students - with emphasis on learning through play, developing self-esteem, celebrating Afro- Caribbean cultures and appreciation and engagement with the nature that surrounds us.

Holistic learning for young children focuses on the development of the whole child—cognitively, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

We achieve this by focusing on.

1
Grounding.

Our children are given access to Forest School sessions weekly. Forest School is a child-centred learning process, providing children centred, hands-on experiences in the natural environment.

2
Cognitive Growth.

We encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, emotional intelligence and creativity through hands-on experiences and exploration.

3
Social Skills.

Enhanced through promoting cooperation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Helping our children build strong interpersonal relationships.

4
Encouraging Curiosity and Exploration.

Our holistic learning environments are playful and allow children to explore their interests, leading to increased motivation and enthusiasm for learning.

5
Increased engagement.

Interactive and experiential learning keeps our children engaged and allows them to retain information better through practical applications of what they learn. Our children love to get stuck in!

6
Physical Wellbeing.

Activities that promote movement and physical health are integral to our curriculum, supporting gross and fine motor skills development. We keep our children active and utilise all opportunities to learn and play outside.

7
Lifelong Learning Skills.

We aim to equip our children with a love for learning and with skills they will use throughout their education and life, such as adaptability, resilience, and critical thinking.

8
Spiritual and Emotional Well Being.

We encourage our children to practice mindfulness exercises, such as deep breathing and meditation.

9
Cultural Awareness.

Our focus on African and Caribbean cultures, traditions, histories, societies and languages exposes children to the depth of wealth in their heritage and encourages wider world perspectives. This fosters greater respect and appreciation for the continent and greater self-esteem and self-pride in their African and Caribbean heritage.
